The Secret to Always Staying Motivated
So you just watched a motivational video, and now you feel inspired.
And you don’t waste no time. You start taking action.
You set goals
You work hard
You do everything the motivational videos tell you to do
And you even stay consistent for a couple of weeks.
Until you don’t see the results you want.
You don’t make progress as fast as you thought you would
You don’t get the recognition you expected
You don’t see success overnight
And then you start having second thoughts.
Maybe you just ain’t cut out for this?
Or maybe you just started too late? You probably should have started years ago. Right?
But, you ain’t no quitter.
So you don’t quit.
You just go back to the drawing board.
And you come up with a new goal to start chasing.
And you start seeing some good results.
You make a little more progress
You get a bit more recognition
You feel a bit more confident in your next steps
But then…
You get bored.
Your new goal is cool and all…
But it don’t excite you the way you thought it would.
So you end up deciding to go back to what you was already doing in the first place.
And this time, it’s for real.
Ain’t no going back again.
At least, until you don’t get the results you wanna get.
As soon as you don’t get those results, you remember why you gave up the first time.
You start telling yourself all the reasons why you might not be succeeding:
I’m not skilled enough
I’m not motivated enough
Maybe I don’t know enough about what I’m doing
But it’s all good.
You said you’re sticking to the mission this time, and you meant that.
So you keep pushing.
But, you always feel like something is just…
Missing.
And you just can’t figure out what it is.
Is it time management?
Is something stressing you out?
Is it, your morning routine?
Maybe it’s just life in general.
Maybe you just need to take a break from pursuing this goal, and focus more on your personal life.
But then, would that make you a quitter?
I mean, you did just say you wasn’t quitting, right?
Aight.
At some point, you gonna have to really get serious.
What can you do that you’ll actually enjoy, and be able to stick with?
I think that’s the wrong question to be asking.
What you should be wondering about is WHY do you wanna achieve this goal in the first place?
Cause the answer to that question is the major key.
Cause when you know WHY you wanna achieve a certain goal, the HOW becomes the easy part.
That could be the goal you set.
Or it could be a different one.
The only way to find out is to find your why first.
