How to Make Money Doing What You Love

I hate working.

Not because I’m lazy.

But because I hate being told what to do.

I don’t wanna be told:

  • When to wake up

  • When to eat lunch

  • When to hop on a meeting

And my job isn’t necessarily that strict (it’s actually pretty flexible).

But still…

The thought of not being in full control of my time pisses me off.

  1. I need my independence. I don’t wanna have to work on projects I don’t care about and work with people I don’t care to work with.

  2. I need my autonomy. I don’t wanna have to put in a PTO request to take off on a random Friday. And then say fuck it and not work Monday either.

  3. I hate being tied down. The thought that someone else can put a cap on how much I’m allowed to get paid lights the worst kinda fire in my spirit.

And I’m not saying I don’t wanna work at all.

I still wanna work.

Just not for somebody else. I wanna decide what I work on and when.

Why? Because…

  1. I’m a natural born leader

  2. I love using my creative skills

  3. I’m very good at problem solving

And most importantly, I love being able to use those skills when and how I want to.

Truth be told…

You’re probably the exact same way.

That’s why you’re still reading this.

But here’s the thing…

It can be hard to find your own path to monetization.

Especially if you wanna do it through:

  • Coaching

  • Info products

  • Content creation

  • Etc.

But through showing up everyday…

  1. Posting consistently to build an audience

  2. Networking with people to understand their problems and desires

  3. Hopping on calls with people

  4. Studying other successful creators

  5. Constantly being willing to learn from others to make myself better…

I’ve finally found what it takes to make money doing what I love.

It comes down to:

  1. Getting clear on what you TRULY want, and being able you see it so clearly that you could paint it.

  2. Being fully aware of what you’re interested in, and committing to pursuing those things no matter what, cause you know it’s good for you.

  3. Understanding how your skills and experiences benefit other people, and allowing yourself to talk about it and teach people confidently.

  4. Building a brand that lets you express all of those things in pursuit of a greater purpose, and not letting anything or anyone (including yourself) get in your way and stop you from achieving it.

And my goal is to help as many people do that as I can.

Because I think creating a plan to monetize yourself NOW is infinitely better than working for a company that would let you go at the drop of a dime (literally), and not having any backup plan for employment, making money, and taking care of your family.

That’s the old way of doing things.

I’m on board with the new school.
